Depression among young people has been increasing with the pandemic. If before the levels among young people were worrying, the situation worsened with social distancing. With depression comes the despair of parents without knowing how to act to help their children and often attempts at suicide and mutilation. Are you in this situation? So this article is for you!

Symptoms Since emotional, hormonal, social, biological... For everyone, depression happens in a way. Adolescence is a phase of affirmation of personality and group identification. This is a moment of great transformation, such as a rite of passage from child to adulthood, with all the inherent responsibility.

In this phase, adolescents feel the need for group identification, go through the first loves, body changes, insertion in sexual life, imposition of choice of a profession as a way to ensure their future, obstacles in establishing self-esteem... Adding to all this, the indiscriminate use of social networks and frustration because they do not achieve the “perfect life” of networks negatively affects their self-confidence, often already weakened in the social and family context.

All of this makes them a true “pressure pan” with regard to their mood and vulnerable with regard to mental disorders. Often, symptoms of depression are confused by “drama of boredom”, “adolescents...” or “will pass”.

But it doesn't always pass ... In addition to a feeling of chronic pain without apparent identification, depression causes physiological changes, such as decreased immune system and increased inflammatory process, which may even lead to cardiovascular diseases.

Suicide is the third cause of death of young people worldwide, according to data from the World Health Organization. And 70% of young people live clinically depressed.

How to identify if a young person suffers from depression

A depressed young man shows signs that should be alert to friends and family:

  • anger and irritability, namely breaking objects and assaulting people;
  • Memory and concentration problems, even in the simplest activities, and forgetfulness and events and activities;
  • Changes in sleep and appetite;
  • Desperation, when the young person ceases to believe in himself and his future and the use of expressions such as “I am a failure”, “things never work out for me”, “life is hard”, “no one likes me”...
  • Isolation, when you stop hanging out with friends and spend a lot of time alone in your room;
  • Lack of interest in activities that were once important to him/her;
  • Self-mutilation in an attempt to relieve emotional pain. They usually cut or burn the body in areas hard to see, such as the belly and inner thighs;
  • Suicidal ideation, when the young person manifests that he is full/fart of life, that he can no longer stand or use of expression as “I want to sleep for years”, “I want to disappear and start all over” or “life has no meaning”

How can we help when more than one of these symptoms presents itself? In addition to all the affection and accompaniment you can give the young person, try to manage the stress that the young person is going through, see that he/she has a hobbie That you like, exercise and have a quality sleep. If you feel lost, without knowing what else to do, seek help from a professional.

Very professional will indicate antidepressant drugs to alter brain chemistry. However, the causes that led the adolescent to a depressive state end up being camouflaged and not treated.

Access® Bars have great results. In fact, one of the creators of Access Consciousness®, Dr. Dain Heer, has overcome depression and attempted suicide with this technique. There was a time in his life when he felt so lost, so desperate, he set a date for committing suicide. Thanks to Access® Bars you have come to feel more motivation, disposition and happiness. Today he is leading a campaign to prevent suicide. You may know more Here..

What are Access® Bars and how do they work? Bars are 32 points in the head that, when touched, release mental and emotional conditioning linked to various areas in our life: communication, control, creativity, sadness, joy, dreams and hopes, etc. Often, during the sessions, people remember old situations in their lives that, unconsciously, were holding them to emotions such as fear, anger, shame or guilt, which were conditioning their lives without realizing it and causing diseases. Its benefits are already proven by science.

Due to the pandemic situation in which we live and the circulation restrictions, Neurobiological Deprogramming (DNB) has the advantage of being able to be done remotely. Like the Bars, the DNB deprogram (as the name indicates) cells that have undergone chemical changes due to stress situations, traumas, fear, among others, that can lead to emotional, mental and, in the final stage, physical diseases. This is a recent technique with proven results.

Alternatively, mentoring allows greater monitoring for awareness of behaviors, conflicts, beliefs and emotional and mental limitations that lead adolescents to lack of self-esteem and even depression. In practical sessions, with the use of exercises and various therapeutic techniques and tools and expansion of consciousness, the adolescent perceives what is going on around him, what is his responsibility and what is not and what can choose from different.

Any of these alternatives does not invalidate the monitoring of health professionals. In fact, it reinforces whenever they should complement other treatments, in order to have faster and deeper results, because the emotional and mental causes that lead to states of depression are explored and eliminated. In this way, adolescents are free from conditions that, in adults, would still be limiting their lives at a personal, professional and even in their relationships.

If you have a depressed family member, friend or teenager, offer your help to overcome the moment you encounter as soon as possible! It's easier to open up to people you don't know. The sooner the better, in order to avoid bigger sequels in everyone's life.
